Here is the entire configuration for a three-court facility that rents by the hour, runs open play, hosts clinics, and blocks out for tournaments.

Five Resources support five sellable products. Every Event draws on the same three courts, and the resource mode is the only thing that differs.

Each court is its own Resource, even when they are interchangeable. Then the Court Rental Event points at all three with the any mode.

The result is that customers book “a court” rather than picking a number, but you still know which court they were assigned and you can never sell the same court twice. If a customer genuinely needs to pick — a specific net height, say — use combo_choose instead, documented in event resource modes.

Open play differs from a rental in one important way: many people buy the same slot. So it is an Event with fixed sessions and a capacity cap, not a bookable window.

Point it at a specific court, set your session times, and set the cap. Registrations stop at the cap. Pointing it at Court 3 specifically — rather than any — keeps Courts 1 and 2 rentable during open play, which is usually the right call.

One Event pointed at all three courts with all. Booking it consumes every court, so no rental or open play can land in that window.

The advantage over manually blocking three courts is reversibility: cancelling one booking releases all three courts at once, with nothing left behind to clean up.
