A tennis club sells court time and pro time, and the interesting decisions are about how they combine. Below is a complete worked setup for a four-court club with two pros, including when to let customers choose their court.
What does a tennis club setup look like?

How do you set up court bookings?
Each court is its own Resource. The booking Events point at all four with the any mode, so Fieldspace assigns a free court rather than making the customer choose.
The two durations are separate Events because they are separate lines on your price list. That also lets you price them independently — a 90-minute booking does not have to cost exactly 1.5× the 60-minute rate. See pricing rules for peak and off-peak rates.
How do you set up lessons with a pro?
A lesson needs two Resources at once: the pro and a court. Both modes below do that, and the only difference is who picks the court.

In both cases the pro is held for the whole lesson, so the same pro cannot be sold twice. Adding a pro as a Resource is the entire mechanism — there is no separate staff calendar to maintain. The full reference is in event resource modes.
Should the ball machine be a Resource or an Add-On?
Ask one question: can it be booked on its own? If the ball machine only ever gets added to a court booking, make it an Add-On. It carries its own price, attaches to the Event, and never appears on the calendar as its own thing.
If you rent the ball machine as a standalone session, it needs to be a Resource so two customers cannot reserve it for the same hour. Racquet rental and ball hoppers are almost always Add-Ons; a single ball machine that people fight over is usually a Resource.

Common questions
How do I let members book a court without choosing which one?
Use the any mode. Point the court booking Event at all four courts, and Fieldspace assigns whichever is free. Members get a confirmed booking without picking a court number, and you keep control of how courts fill up.
What is the difference between combo and combo_choose for lessons?
Both hold a pro and a court in one booking. With combo, Fieldspace picks the court automatically. With combo_choose, the customer picks which court they want while the pro is still held. Use combo_choose when court choice matters to the customer — a specific surface, an indoor court, or one near the pro shop.
Should a ball machine be a Resource or an Add-On?
It depends on whether it can be booked on its own. If customers only ever add the ball machine to a court booking, make it an Add-On: it carries a price and attaches to the Event without occupying the calendar. If you rent the ball machine as its own session, make it a Resource so it cannot be double-booked.
How do I stop a pro from being booked for two lessons at once?
Add the pro as a Resource and reference them in every lesson Event. Because a Resource can only be held by one booking at a time, the second lesson simply will not be offered for that window. You do not manage the pro's calendar separately.
