Add-ons

A Fieldspace Add-On is an extra a customer attaches to a booking: a pitching machine, a bucket of balls, extra time. Each Add-On has a price, a maximum quantity, and optional member pricing, and is attached per Event so a cage rental and a tennis court offer different extras.
What is an Add-On?
An Add-On is the upsell attached to a booking. It is one of the four building blocks in Fieldspace, alongside Projects (your facility), Resources (the courts, cages, lanes, and coaches a booking occupies), and Events (what a customer picks from your price list).
The distinction that matters: an Event is what a customer books, and an Add-On is what they add to it. Nobody books a bucket of balls by itself.

How do Add-Ons attach to Events?
Per Event. An Add-On is offered on the Events you attach it to, which keeps the booking screen relevant: a "60-Minute Cage Rental" can offer a pitching machine and an L-screen, while a "Tennis Court Rental" offers a ball machine instead.
One Add-On can attach to several Events. A "Bucket of balls" can be offered on every cage Event you sell without being recreated each time.
Add-On or Resource?
Use this test: does the thing need to stop being available once someone takes it?
- Yes — make it a Resource. Resources prevent double-booking, so if you have one pitching machine and two cages, a Resource stops both cages from promising it at once.
- No — make it an Add-On. A bucket of balls has no schedule; it just needs a price and a quantity cap.
Maximum quantity limits how many one booking can attach. It does not reserve inventory across overlapping bookings — that is what Resources are for.
Common questions
What is an Add-On in Fieldspace?

Can I limit how many of an Add-On someone buys?
Yes. Each Fieldspace Add-On has a maximum quantity. If you own three ball machines, set the max quantity to 3 and no booking can attach a fourth.
Can members get a different price on Add-Ons?
Yes. Add-Ons support member pricing the same way Resources and Events do, so a ball machine can cost members less than the public rate.
Do Add-Ons need their own Resource?
No. An Add-On is a priced extra on a booking, not a space or person a booking occupies. If the thing needs to prevent double-booking on its own, it should be a Resource instead of an Add-On.
